When we think July 4th, we think Summer, Fireworks, Red White and Blue, all to celebrate its historical significance. When it comes to decorating for the holiday, we found that you don’t have to dig out all of the stars, stripes, and Uncle Sam décor in order to be festive. With this beach front home, we’ve mixed red white and blue colors and patterns in a way that enables the room to work throughout the entire summer. We’ve kept the sofa neutral with our outdoor solid Rave-Ivory. This keeps it easy to play around with different color stories in the pillows and throws as the seasons change.

If only it could be summer the entire year… Well we’d prefer that anyway. We were tired of the same old solid/stripe umbrella patterns seen up and down the beach so we’ve tossed in a couple of our own patterns to stand out a little bit! We used existing umbrella supports AND sewED up our own cover FOR THEM. WE are feeling pretty good about THE WAY THEY turned out!

During the Spring, we enjoy feeling the temperatures rise, and social gatherings moving from the inside, out. With this living room space we’ve accented the neutral wall/carpet colors with spring colors in the upholstery and pillows that flow right into the back patio. We tried to make a statement with our Rave-Willow upholstery solid on the sofa. With the added corals and blues present in the pillows, we think this visual alone is a very inviting combination. We’ve added a coral geometric ottoman to compliment the sofa and drapes. As you work your way outside you still see coral, but with more blue in the chair cushions to mix it up!

Here’s a fun and easy project we worked on. We bought 5 plastic outdoor lounge chairs from IKEA to scatter around the backyard. For extra comfort and color, we added in a simple tufted cushion as well as a pillow for the back. This also makes it super easy to change up the color/look each season if necessary. We’ve mix and matched a rainbow of color combinations but you can keep it consistent with the same color combos on each chair. It’s all up to you!

We have some fresh blue/turquoise solids and stripes that we like to incorporate into a lot of projects. For this outdoor patio re-vamp, we mixed Cabana-Turquoise with Rave-Aqua in the seat cushions. To make it a little more exciting we complimented the lounge chair with a Spinnakerbay-Sailor Pillow and the dining table with a Beachhuts-Cabana Table Cloth.
